Elrathia kingii trilobite mortality plate found in the West Desert of Utah. This plate measures approximately 8.5" tall by 6.5" wide and 1 1/4" thick. Two whole Elrathia kingii molt trilobites as well as some pieces and several trilobite imprints can be seen on this mortality plate.
This is called a "Mortality Plate" because it is a frozen snapshot of a death assemblage.
