Utah septarian is mined from sedimentary rock 20 to 80 feet below the surface of the earth! Only 20% of all mined nodules contain a hollow interior cavity!   

Age... Late Cretaceous (approx. 100 million years old)   Location... Orderville, Utah

Composition... Calcite (yellow centers), Aragonite (brown lines), Limestone (outer grey rock), occasionally the minerals Barite, Pyrite and Marcasite can be seen.

Septarian are ancient stones that formed around decaying sea life.

Metaphysically they are considered a healing and protective stone. Septarian brings calming energies which nurtures and grounds, bringing about feelings of joy, spiritual uplift and understanding. It can clear negative energy and feelings of sadness, hurt or hatred. This versatile stone is also a speaking stone that is said to improve communication skills of the holder.
