Display your books in style with this beautiful fossil filled Septarian Bookend! Made from a Utah septarian nodule cut and stunningly polished to expose the bright and bold calcite and aragonite filled pattern inside.
This authentic and one-of-a-kind septarian bookend surprised us with three visible fossil remnants on the polished front side! A turritella type fossil on the far left side and on each polished half you can see the remnants of a brachiopod that was cut in half and polished to expose the interior mineral calcification.
Most times the septarian calcite exhibits a vibrant fluorescence under short-wave ultraviolet light.
The base and side flat cut edges have been lined with felt.
